High TG

High Tg PCB is a type of laminate that has much higher Tg than normal FR4 – usually 170°C and above. Tg indicates the temperature at which the resin system inside the PCB becomes rigid to rubbery.
Higher Tg materials are capable of being exposed to higher temperatures without warping, delaminating, or experiencing electrical property loss. With modern electronics trending towards higher power, higher density and lead free manufacturing, High Tg laminates are now a necessity if long term reliability is required in a thermally stressing environment.

Core Advantages of High Tg Materials

1.Enhanced Heat Resistance

High-Tg materials stay hard and stable even at high temperatures. High-temperature stress does not cause them to soften or distort, which makes them especially applicable to high temperature procedures including lead-free reflow soldering.

2. Excellent Mechanical Stability

These are maintained flat and stable even under flow of heat for multi-layer PCB constructions are used. This decreases the chances of bowing, delaminating and other mechanic failures, therefore the quality of the assembly is improved in the average.

3.Lower Moisture Absorption

High-Tg substrates are capable of absorbing much less moisture, and as a result, they can provide stable and reliable insulation performance and dimensional stability in a moist environment. This contributes to an improvement in the environmental durability of the product.

4.Stable Electrical Performance

Their dielectric properties do not decrease at high temperatures, which enables the High-Tg material to better support the propagation of high speed signals or high frequency signals under strong electric field. This diminishes the electromagnetic interference and signal distortion.

5.Suitable for Demanding Processes and High-Power Applications

High-Tg materials offer enhanced reliability and extended life whether employed in power and high-power modules, tight component packing, or complex multilayer HDI configurations.
