SMT Ordering Necessary Files&Info
PCBA is the process of placing and assembling components on a PCB and then soldering them using methods such as SMT and THT. In order for the process to be completed smoothly, complete and accurate assembly files must be provided.
1. Bill of Materials (BOM)
The purchasing department orders the required components based on the BOM. The materials department prepares the components based on the BOM. During the assembly process, the BOM is used to determine the placement of components.
The BOM table mainly contains the following information: bit number, device description, manufacturer’s material number, packaging specifications, quantity, alternative material information, etc
2. Coordinate File
The coordinate file mainly includes: position number, X/Y coordinates, rotation angle, mounting surface, etc. The SMT placement machine uses the coordinate file for high-speed positioning, ensuring the correct placement direction and avoiding installation errors.
3. Assembly Drawings
Assembly drawings are documents provided to technicians for manual inspection and quality testing.
4. Stencil File
The stencil manufacturer creates a laser-cut stencil based on the stencil file. During SMT, solder paste is printed onto the pads through the laser-cut stencil to ensure solder joint quality.
5. Test Documents (Optional)
If the PCBA requires electrical or functional testing, relevant test documents are required. This ensures the PCBA meets design requirements and improves product quality.
